Kim Kardashian knows how to work it
One of the keys to having great style is working with what you’ve got. Don’t beat yourself up if your curvy. Work with it instead. When we work behind the scenes, getting people ready for big events, we always have a tailor or seamstress on hand. Many people tell me that they hate going shopping, because things just don’t fit right. It’s hard to grab something off the rack and run with it. It doesn’t matter what body type, shape of size you are. ( Just a little secret here: Even the people who have what you would considered ideal body types have issues with clothing off the rack.)
Kim Kardashian tells InStyle Magazine the same thing. “Anything you wear should be proportioned to your body, and a good tailor will make sure everything fits perfectly. I either have my tailor at every fitting or I have my stylist pin my wardrobe and take it to the tailor before I wear anything. Shortening a hem line on a dress can make a huge difference!”
She’s so right on! It does make a big difference. I know you all have something in your closet that you just love, but for some reason you don’t wear it. It just doesn’t fit right, it’s a tad too big around the waist, it isn’t the right length for your body, the straps need to be shortened slightly.
Take it to a tailor and see how they can alter it for your body. You already have some incredible wardrobe items in your closet…and you’ll find in the long run, that you’ll save money, feel wonderful when you slip something on, and you’ll look like a star!
