Has Your Favorite Lipstick Been Discontinued?

Q

Dear Red Lipstick Report,

My friend and I have been buying the same great lipstick from a boutique for years even though she’s a blond and I’m a brunette. It’s one of those fab colors that looks great with neutrals and I wear a lot of black and white. Now they say it’s discontinued. We did research and found out it’s from No Name Cosmetics. Possible it’s under a different # or name? How do I find someone to match it for me? We order 5 at a time of #42 also known as champagne.

A Desperate Color Matcher

A Dear Desperate Color Matcher,

I’m sorry to hear your plight, but you should know it happens to the best of us!  Your in luck – I’ve got some good news for you. I once met a woman who was fascinated by the process of mixing lipsticks, foundations and more. She was a true blue artist and makeup happened to be where she played.  She prided herself on her magical touch, and uncanny ability to find her customers the perfect shade and texture lipstick. One day, she decided that she would open her own Cosmetic lab. Hence, Colorlab, was born! Mixology Magic. top_right_logo

In 1996, the talented makeup artist, Mary Swaab, created a process to replicate discontinued lipsticks and more. An immediate hit among beauty insiders, Colorlab, gained recognition from the press, including Vogue, InStyle, Mademoiselle and Seventeen magazine.

You can find Colorlab Custom Cosmetics at high end salons and spas and selected department stores. You can send a sample directly to the lab and have it matched into your own perfect shade. Instructions below.

It’s in the Bag…Entrepreneur Nancy Gale Combines Business, Charity and Her Love of Fashion and Design

In 2000, Nancy Gale began Jamah by creating high-end, custom cast and crew gifts for film and television production. While Jamah’s clothes and bags were more about function and serving the masses, she thought it would be “fun” to design something more unique and tried her hand at making a handbag. By the end of 2007, Jamah was evolving very organically into a handbag company. Gale, a self-taught designer, has always had a creative eye. She finds her inspiration in architecture, nature, and sculptures and has a fascination with turning inanimate objects into something usable.

Jamah’s social consciousness extends beyond the bag. Gale is in the process of founding In True Fashion, a non-profit organization that builds self-esteem in American youth through process and mindfulness, increases awareness of the importance of products “Made in the USA,” and inspires a vision for a strong future.

Get involved by shopping for a cause. By shopping the Jamah Closet, you are helping launch In True Fashion.  Part of the proceeds will go straight to the program, helping today’s youth and their strong future.
