Q

Dear Red Lipstick Reporter,

I have extremely sensitive dry skin. I’m also allergic to lanolin. My skin is so dry under my eyes it pulls and cracks. Do you have any suggestions on what I can use to ease my dry skin without spending a fortune?

-Melanie, Florida

A

Dear Melanie,

It seems you’re not alone when it comes to less-than-lovely skin issues. Many  women ( and men) are telling me that their skin is changing.  They want to know how they can get back the glow they used to have, not to mention alleviate dry skin issues.

I  recently spoke to makeup artist, skin care specialist, and creator of VividMD Skin Care, Michelle Garbin, while she was working on the set of Sons of Anarchy. Garbin, tells me she believes that makeup only looks as good as the skin underneath it all.  Her suggestion for saving your skin, healing the dry areas, and getting your glow back is as easy as A, B, C.

A – Cleanse       B – Treat     C- Moisturize + Make sure it contains a sunscreen

(Garbin tells me there are new rules coming down the road from the FDA about sunscreens + sunblocks. They are not all created equal. She promises to share more as soon as the new rules go into effect.)

Back to your dry skin issue, Melanie.

Garbin suggests you treat your dry skin with Perfection C. It’s magic in the bottle. I’m a big fan! Perfection C is a Vitamin C serum enriched skin rejuvenation treatment that lightens, brightens, + tightens. Use before your moisturizer to enhance hydration. Not only does it feel great; it smells amazing!

VividMD complete skin care line is simple and easy to use. Garbin prides herself on taking care of her actresses + actors when on set. She sets up a towel warmer, and her complete line of skin care to insure her celeb clients leave the makeup trailer with clean fresh skin at the end of long shoot days.

The results are incredible. Check out the photos of clients who have used VividMD Skincare.

Q

Dear Red Lipstick Report,

My friend and I have been buying the same great lipstick from a boutique for years even though she’s a blond and I’m a brunette. It’s one of those fab colors that looks great with neutrals and I wear a lot of black and white. Now they say it’s discontinued. We did research and found out it’s from No Name Cosmetics. Possible it’s under a different # or name? How do I find someone to match it for me? We order 5 at a time of #42 also known as champagne.

A Desperate Color Matcher

A Dear Desperate Color Matcher,

I’m sorry to hear your plight, but you should know it happens to the best of us!  Your in luck – I’ve got some good news for you. I once met a woman who was fascinated by the process of mixing lipsticks, foundations and more. She was a true blue artist and makeup happened to be where she played.  She prided herself on her magical touch, and uncanny ability to find her customers the perfect shade and texture lipstick. One day, she decided that she would open her own Cosmetic lab. Hence, Colorlab, was born! Mixology Magic. top_right_logo

In 1996, the talented makeup artist, Mary Swaab, created a process to replicate discontinued lipsticks and more. An immediate hit among beauty insiders, Colorlab, gained recognition from the press, including Vogue, InStyle, Mademoiselle and Seventeen magazine.
